Davey: Green Day tour is the last tour for Crash Love

AFI performed at the annual Lollapalooza event in Chicago today, and in between songs, Davey said that AFI’s tour with Green Day will be their last tour for Crash Love. Currently, the last date for the Green Day tour is scheduled for September 2nd, less than a month from now.

As stated several times by both Davey and Jade, Blaqk Audio should begin as soon as AFI is done touring. The wait is only weeks from here, let the Blaqk Age begin.

    Jade Blogs About Blaqk Audio

Jade recently made a blog post about Blaqk Audio. It read:

Blaqk Audio is in full gear-up mode. We haven’t made any major announcements because we have to take care of a few important things first. We do, however, have our first show booked, which is exciting. Should be announced soon.

We recently reported that Blaqk Audio may be doing a private gig at The Roxy. It is unclear however if this would be their first show.

    Ding Adds Blaqk Audio Skin

Ding, a company who sells music skins which you can put on all of your electronic devices, have added a Blaqk Audio skin.  The skin can be bought for your iPod, XBox 360, laptop, or even your phone.  Click here to view the design.  The design is titled “Night Light”.

    “Bon Voyeurs” Premiere & Discussion

Blaqk Audio’s latest song to hit the airwaves, “Bon Voyeurs”, premiered very early in the morning on July 28th, 2010. After discovering that the song was being played on Sirius FM’s BPM Station, fans awaited eagerly all night to possibly hear the song get played again. And for those who stayed up, it was well worth it.

What do you think of “Bon Voyeurs”? How does it compare to “Ill Lit Ships” in your opinion? Let your voice be heard in the comments! Alternatively, you can discuss it on our forum. LYRICS HERE.

Private Blaqk Audio gig at The Roxy in January?

Repost via affiliate AFI News HQ:

We’ve found a tweet that we urge you to take with a pound of salt, but is interesting nonetheless.

    It reads:

@I_Ruin_Dreams My manager at work is good friends with the owner of the roxy in Hollywood and says that Blaqk Audio will be doing a private gig in January!

AFI performed at The Roxy for the Crash Love record release show, and it was a private gig as well, so this is entirely plausible. However, we haven’t found any more information about this show, so keep your eyes open.

Drew’s note: This tweet was sent to management for confirmation, so we will know if this is real soon enough.

    Welcome our new writer, Mary!

Some of you should already know Mary – she used to work for AFI News HQ for a long time. Well, due to some circumstances, she now has a new home here!

Mary is excited about having a fresh start with us, and we will all be working as a team to bring you the best possible fansite and consistant news as the album approaches!

Here’s to the blaqk-filled future, with many great moments to come.

“Hold Me Now” Cover – More info

I received a few emails on this after I put up the Trivia page, so I decided I would make a post on the matter.

Blaqk Audio has done three cover songs – “Girls and Boys” by Blur, “No New Tales To Tell” by Love and Rockets, and “Hold Me Now” by the Thompson Twins. Studio versions were released for all the covers except “Hold Me Now”. The song was only performed once (correct me if I’m wrong) at Blaqk Audio’s Bamboozle show in 2008.

You can find videos all over Youtube, so I decided to rip the audio from one of the videos, and clean up the file to make a suitable MP3. The song was never licensed and therefore perfectly legal to download here – seeing as a studio version may never come anyway.

Right click here and select “Save As” or “Download Linked File” to download the song

What are your thoughts on the cover? I personally like it much more than “Girls and Boys”.

    BrightBlackHeaven.com Website Updates

Finished some long needed work on the site today.

    • New layout for the main site. Differences include a new menu bar – which has been moved further down, and includes a handy drop down menu for the database, and the sidebar on the left is now larger which will allow for a bigger chatbox. The layout will also receive a completely new facelift once new official art is revealed.
    • New layout for the forum. The header issue was finally fixed and this layout is much cleaner. Also, start some discussions on our forum if you can – it’s getting lonely over there!
    • The database is finally complete! A trivia section was also added. You can navigate the database through the drop down bar on the menu, or from the right sidebar. The database will be continually updated as we progress through the Bright Black Heaven era.

    Blaqk Audio Myspace updates imminent

We have just learned through Blaqk Audio’s webmaster that updates to their official Myspace page (and maybe blaqkaudio.com) will be coming soon. Their “last login” information was recently hidden on their Myspace page, after having not logged in for over 6 months. According to their webmaster, people have already started prepping the Myspace page, as Jade is delegating work to the team.

This news comes after we learned that management actually had plans to release the song titles before they got leaked. Nonetheless, it’s highly probable we will learn more in due time.

    30 New Song Titles Revealed

    30 New Song Titles Revealed

BMI licensing updated Davey and Jade’s page with 29 new song titles. The publisher is noted as “BLAQKNOISE MUSIC”. Note: all these titles are confirmed real, but it is unknown which will appear on Bright Black Heaven; although as Davey stated, they might also put out several EP’s in order to get all the songs released. Now that the songs have been licensed, we can expect the album to be released relatively soon.

Davey recently said in the AFI News HQ interview that 33 songs were recorded, so we are missing 3 more so far. Stay tuned, as they might pop up sometime soon (it’s also possible they got scrapped).
