Davey: Green Day tour is the last tour for Crash Love

AFI performed at the annual Lollapalooza event in Chicago today, and in between songs, Davey said that AFI’s tour with Green Day will be their last tour for Crash Love. Currently, the last date for the Green Day tour is scheduled for September 2nd, less than a month from now.

As stated several times by both Davey and Jade, Blaqk Audio should begin as soon as AFI is done touring. The wait is only weeks from here, let the Blaqk Age begin.

    Jade Blogs About Blaqk Audio

Jade recently made a blog post about Blaqk Audio. It read:

Blaqk Audio is in full gear-up mode. We haven’t made any major announcements because we have to take care of a few important things first. We do, however, have our first show booked, which is exciting. Should be announced soon.

We recently reported that Blaqk Audio may be doing a private gig at The Roxy. It is unclear however if this would be their first show.

    Ding Adds Blaqk Audio Skin

Ding, a company who sells music skins which you can put on all of your electronic devices, have added a Blaqk Audio skin.  The skin can be bought for your iPod, XBox 360, laptop, or even your phone.  Click here to view the design.  The design is titled “Night Light”.

    “Bon Voyeurs” Premiere & Discussion

Blaqk Audio’s latest song to hit the airwaves, “Bon Voyeurs”, premiered very early in the morning on July 28th, 2010. After discovering that the song was being played on Sirius FM’s BPM Station, fans awaited eagerly all night to possibly hear the song get played again. And for those who stayed up, it was well worth it.

What do you think of “Bon Voyeurs”? How does it compare to “Ill Lit Ships” in your opinion? Let your voice be heard in the comments! Alternatively, you can discuss it on our forum. LYRICS HERE.

Private Blaqk Audio gig at The Roxy in January?

Repost via affiliate AFI News HQ:

We’ve found a tweet that we urge you to take with a pound of salt, but is interesting nonetheless.

    It reads:

@I_Ruin_Dreams My manager at work is good friends with the owner of the roxy in Hollywood and says that Blaqk Audio will be doing a private gig in January!

AFI performed at The Roxy for the Crash Love record release show, and it was a private gig as well, so this is entirely plausible. However, we haven’t found any more information about this show, so keep your eyes open.

Drew’s note: This tweet was sent to management for confirmation, so we will know if this is real soon enough.

    Blaqk Audio Myspace updates imminent

We have just learned through Blaqk Audio’s webmaster that updates to their official Myspace page (and maybe blaqkaudio.com) will be coming soon. Their “last login” information was recently hidden on their Myspace page, after having not logged in for over 6 months. According to their webmaster, people have already started prepping the Myspace page, as Jade is delegating work to the team.

This news comes after we learned that management actually had plans to release the song titles before they got leaked. Nonetheless, it’s highly probable we will learn more in due time.

    30 New Song Titles Revealed

    30 New Song Titles Revealed

BMI licensing updated Davey and Jade’s page with 29 new song titles. The publisher is noted as “BLAQKNOISE MUSIC”. Note: all these titles are confirmed real, but it is unknown which will appear on Bright Black Heaven; although as Davey stated, they might also put out several EP’s in order to get all the songs released. Now that the songs have been licensed, we can expect the album to be released relatively soon.

Davey recently said in the AFI News HQ interview that 33 songs were recorded, so we are missing 3 more so far. Stay tuned, as they might pop up sometime soon (it’s also possible they got scrapped).

Davey talks about Bright Black Heaven

Repost from AFINewsHQ‘s interview with Davey:

    • 33 songs have been tracked (recorded) so far
    • Half of the songs have been mixed, but none of the songs have been mastered yet
    • There is no release date for the album yet, but they are “figuring out how and where they are going to put out the music” and that Blaqk Audio should have new music “shortly after” AFI is done touring Crash Love
“There is so much material that we have… Jade and I have been talking about which songs are going to go where, and we’ve had thoughts of releasing EP’s and singles… it’s really difficult to create a record because I feel that so much is going to be left out.”
Davey went on to talk about the lack of interest in the traditional longplay album, and pointed out that this would be a positive because it “allows [Blaqk Audio] to release, just indiscriminently, song after song after song.”

New Blaqk Audio info on June 8th

Longing for some new information like all of us?

Wait no further – AFI News HQ‘s interview with Davey will shed the light on some of your burning Blaqk Audio questions about the new album. We are told the first part of the interview should be released on or around June 8th, and the subsequent parts the following weeks, so stay tuned to AFI News HQ until then!

UPDATE: Tomorrow night, lots of new Blaqk Audio information (and other topics discussed in the interview) will be posted.

    Possible Unreleased Blaqk Audio B-Sides

Although this technically might be considered “old news”, no one has brought it up before. On Jade’s official Last.fm account, two previously unheard of Blaqk Audio songs show up on his tracks page: “Dancefloor Sex” and “Da Funk“. Considering these were added in 2006 (and he has not logged in since then), we know it cannot be new material.

Though, it is still interesting to note that there are still likely plenty of unreleased Blaqk Audio songs that we will hopefully get to hear someday.

UPDATE: More songs listed under Blaqk Audio by Jade are found here. Interestingly, Jade has also made a techno version of “But Home is Nowhere”.
