Already Heard Album Review

Alreadyheard.com posted their review of Bright Black Heaven today; they gave it a 2/5 but didn’t entirely write it off.

Blaqk Audio’s newest album ‘Bright Black Heaven’ isn’t a total disappointment. There are some solid tracks, and this is the perfect album for putting in the background at a party. But it’s too generic, and doesn’t break the mold of electronic dance music. It’s all very expected, and it will be overlooked.

I actually completed agree with this. From all of the news of them recording over 30 songs, it seems that they went for quantity rather than quality. With the amount of dance music out these days there’s a high bar and I don’t feel it was met with every song. Individually the songs just aren’t memorable. I do however love Faith Healer.

People are going to get bent out of shape about this, but from the previews this guy made a completely honest review.

It’s generic and if you really think it’s not, you either need to step back from your idol worship and think subjectively or get your hearing checked. It’s not memorable, the mainstream won’t pick it up, it won’t be played in clubs and years from now it will mean nothing.

It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. Save your childish insults for the playground.

What really pisses me off about this statement is saying the album “won’t mean nothing.” Despite what you think about it being generic or people liking it because “idol worship”, Davey and Jade worked their asses off for this album and (to them) it obviously means something. I respect your opinion but I wholeheartedly believe it is not their intention to be revered by the mainstream or have their songs played in clubs. They enjoy their music, as do I, so I guess I’ll get my hearing checked because I know I’m going to enjoy this album.

Danny, I wouldn’t go so far as to say it won’t mean anything years from now. I think, in my opinion, an album is successful if it reaches someone and touches them in a positive way. Hell, even a single song. If an album saves someones life, lifts them from depression, or simply gives them hope, it’d mean something.
